Frequently asked questions about our intensive electrical course:

Some providers tell me I’ll be an electrician after 4 weeks of training – is this true?

All intensive electrical courses of around 4 weeks’ duration should enable you to qualify as a domestic electrical installer. You can then register to self-certify your work under a Competent Person Scheme. To become a fully qualified electrician you will need to gain on-the-job experience and complete NVQ Level 3. Our advice is to beware of providers that say you can become an electrician in just four weeks.

Are there any hidden costs?

All our prices include exam fees, lunches and refreshments. We can provide books separately for delegates who wish to purchase them from us.

Must I do all my electrical training consecutively or can I split it up?

If it’s not convenient to commit to four consecutive weeks you can split the training up into one or two week blocks to suit you.

Will I need to supply my own tools?

No – we provide tools for you to use during the course.

How many people will be on the course?

Delegate numbers are kept to a small number – typically no more than 8 people for practical sessions. For the 17th Edition part of the course delegate numbers may increase to 16 as there is no practical element.

If you fail an examination do you have to do the whole course again?

If you aren’t successful at gaining your electrical qualifications first time we will offer a second go during the time you’re with us on the intensive electrical course. It’s not necessary to repeat the training but support will be given to point you in the right direction.
